Quotations are passages or phrases from a book, poem, play, limerick, proverb and maxim.  These are  essential, convenient and a real treasure of wit and wisdom,  written by various unknown and known orators, poets and authors,  which have taken root in people’s minds and have passed over from literature into speech, becoming real and authentic “household words.”  

Quotations are effective and reliable for every occasion.  These can make us sigh, smile, beam, grin and smirk,  just like old familiar friends whom we search for and depend on in times of need. 

In fact,  the act or habit of quoting from books, plays and poems are employed by individuals for a wide range of reasons.  Famous quotations are used to describe and express concisely, to hold up, support, point out and maintain a notion,  thought, an idea or argument. 

 Most often, quotations just come unsought or its intrusion are simply welcomed for lack of originality. 

Since man’s exigencies are various and assorted, so as subjects of quotations.  In fact, there are  familiar and well loved phrases  on love, age, marriage, friendship, life, freedom  and knowledge.  Other subjects include  appetite, beer, chaos, grease, prairies, poles, pot,  wood, and even blogging quotes and more.

Certainly, quotations can contribute a lot to the strength and development  of the language.
